November is coming to a close and I still haven't gotten any better about keeping up with my blog. Especially since so much has happened!
Earlier this month I was called to be a primary worker in the nursery. In our ward, there are so many kids that go to nursery, that they eventually had to end up splitting it. So, I got to be with the younger kids, which also meant being with my little girl (she just started nursery this month). I really do enjoy being with the little ones and getting to know them personally. Brad got called to be a Sunday School teacher with the 14-15 year old kids. He really does enjoy being with the kids! :) After he teaches his class, he comes into nursery with me and helps me out.
I have also never been really good at visiting teaching, so I made a special effort to contact my visiting teaching partner and to do all of our visiting teaching! I didn't realize how much I would enjoy visiting teaching. I really do love all of the ladies in our ward and going to see them and see how they're doing brings some joy into my heart. One of the best things about my visiting teaching responsbility is my partner, Amy Petersen. I feel so lucky to be able to meet up with her several times a month and go visit teach with her! She is such a sweet lady! The other best part about it is that her husband is Brad's home teaching partner! :) How fun is that! AND both Brad and I get to visit/home teach the same family too!
Since this month was a month of thanks, I just also wanted to quickly share my appreciation for all of the friends and family that we have! Earlier this month, Chrissy and Jason Lennon had us in their home for a Sunday dinner. It was really nice of them to have us over and their kids are such sweethearts! Hadlee played with AimeeLynn the whole time and was so sweet to her. Even though Chrissy is family, I also consider her as a friend. She has introduced me to Whitney, who had a candle party a couple weeks ago that I attended. I can't even explain how much fun I had at that! Every once in a while I do get lonely here in Wyoming and really miss my family. Actually, a lot of the times I do. So what Chrissy did really meant a lot to me...thanks Chrissy! I'm also thankful for Brad's Aunt Connie. She's also had us over at her place a couple times for a Sunday lunch. It's really nice to be to go to her place and just talk the afternoon away. :) I'm also thankful for Brad's Grandma and Aunt Anna. Brad's Aunt Anna is the one person here in Wyoming who has really made me feel like I belong in the family. I don't know if she's serious when she tells me I'm her favorite person and gives me a hug, but it sure means a lot to me. She's always telling me she loves me and shows genuine care. Brad's Grandma is the same way, they sure are the sweetest ladies and I'm thankful that they let me be a part of this family! And of course, I'm so very thankful for ALL of my friends and family, NEAR and FAR...I love them all!
A couple weeks ago, Aimee got sick. For a few days she had a fever that stayed between 102-104. At first I thought it was her teething, but she's never had a fever along with teething before. So, after I saw that she wasn't improving, I took her to the doctor. Turns out she had an ear infection and a sore throat. Poor baby!! Anyway, she's all better now, but for about a week it was real hard on her and on us. I hate seeing her sick, we both do. I also had a doctor's appointment earlier this month and it sounds like the baby is still doing great! I'm developing quite the baby bump now, I'll have to get a picture on here one day. Can't remember if I said on here or not, but the baby's due date is May 19th now instead of May 24th. I wonder how close Aimee's birthday and the baby's birtday will be since Aimee was due the 20th, and born on the 22nd. AimeeLynn is also doing great. She had her doctor's appointment to and is now 31 inches tall, weighs 17 lbs 6 oz. ( I know she's tiny ), and has all her teeth in. She is also pretty good about going to the bathroom for #2. The longest I haven't had to change a dirty diaper is 3+ weeks! Yippee!
The best part about this month was that my beautiful sister, Aja, was able to come up and spend Thankgiving week with us. We went shopping in Billings, MT, where she really enjoyed not having to pay sales tax; she came to work at the toy store with me; she took lots of pictures; we went x-mas tree hunting in the mountains; we watched New Moon; she played with AimeeLynn everyday and was such a good auntie to her; we got her her first make-up kit; and so much more! We even got to enjoy some time with our other sister Garnet!! It was so nice having her over for a couple hours and we're glad she drove an hour and a half to see us.
I'm so lucky to have a sister like Aja that I can be really close to and enjoy spending time with. Sadly, she went back to Rexburg yesterday. :( I already miss her so much, along with the rest of my family. I think having her stay with us for a week kinda makes me realize how lonely it can get here without family close by. But I know I have to be strong for myself and my family. It's just so hard sometimes. Brad's family is just so different from mine. I know they care and love us, but my family...We grew up SO close together...you could say and do anything that you wanted to and nobody cared. We laughed together with our friends, with eachother, with anybody that was in our home. Growing up like that for 18+ years, it's hard to grow out of it, and I don't want to ever. I know I miss that. Maybe it's just because I'm pregnant and so emotional right now, but I better stop and publish this before I shed any more tears and a customer walks into the store and sees me crying...how embarassing.
On a more happy note before I close this, I also wanted to share that even though I just got called to be a primary worker in the nursery, I am going to be getting a new calling again! The Lord wants me to be the Secretary in the Primary Presidency. I know it'll be a lot of work, but I also know that it will be good for me. :) And here are some pictures from the past month...
